Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
