It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has won it all.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It is hard for their hitters to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a chance to produce her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

If this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Certain people claim the argument supporting championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this knock was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it was a challenging time because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive nature take over and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was in motion.

"The possibility to go out there and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can do it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this success coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as skipper.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
